The Galil Film Festival is a new international initiative launching in northern Israel.

Backed by a Visionary Film Fund

The festival was initiated by the Galil Film Fund, which supports projects of all formats and lengths, with a strong emphasis on environmental themes, social responsibility and cultural exchange.

Its mission is to support bold cinematic voices and expand opportunities beyond central cultural hubs—amplifying regional stories with global relevance.

The Galil – A Region of Diversity

The Galil is a lush, hilly, mostly non-urban region in northern Israel, where Jews, Christians, Muslims, Druze, Circassians, Arabs, and Bedouins live in harmony.

It is a unique cultural and ecological landscape where community life thrives across ethnic, religious, and historical lines.

Filmmakers from all of these communities are involved in the Galil Film Fund’s work—making the festival a microcosm of coexistence and creativity.

Screenings and professional events are held in boutique wineries, artist-run spaces, cultural centers, and historical sites throughout the Galil.

These intimate, character-rich venues allow for deeper exchange and authentic connection—far from conventional urban venues, and deeply embedded in the region’s natural and cultural setting.
